Below is a list of commonly asked questions, if you have a question which is not on the list below please do not hesitate to contact me at hello@torihancock.com.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
My packages for 2016/2017 begin at £1600. Dates are quickly filling up so if you are interested in me shooting your wedding please get in touch.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I'm based in Norfolk, UK most of the time, but I have family in Bath so go to that part of the world all the time. However, I’m happy to travel anywhere!
DO YOU ONLY SHOOT WEDDINGS IN THE UK?
No, I shoot weddings all over the world.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR PACKAGES?
To keep things simple, all wedding packages includes the following:

A pre-wedding consultation in person (or via Skype or phone if necessary)
Full coverage of your wedding (second shooter can be added at an extra cost)
A DVD with all images from the day at high resolution and a license to make your own prints
Image processing and necessary digital retouching on all images
I also offer hand-made luxury photo books and albums by Folio (at an extra cost)
CAN WE HAVE ALL THE PHOTOS IN HIGH RESOLUTION?
I include full resolution copies of all the best photos from your wedding day or photo shoot. These photos are carefully colour corrected and individually tweaked to bring out their full potential.
ARE THERE EXTRA COSTS FOR YOUR TRAVEL EXPENSES TO OUR DESTINATION WEDDING?
In general there are no extra charges for travel to weddings in the UK. For weddings further afield there are additional costs for flights, transfers and accommodation. I always aim to keep these to the bare minimum by booking well in advance.
DO YOU OFFER PRE-WEDDING/ENGAGEMENT SHOOTS?
Absolutely. I love the opportunity to meet and take photos of couples in advance of the big day so I offer engagement shoots and also anniversary photo sessions. These sessions are best shot on location & are a great way for us to get to know each other & for you to generally begin to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. The photos might also be perfect for your wedding day guest book or even the invitations. Prices start at £300.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY OF DISCUSSING OUR WEDDING PLANS WITH YOU?
Initially the best thing to do is fill in the contact form on my website with as much information as possible. If I am available then I’ll provide you with a quote via email. If then you’d like to discuss things further over the phone, Skype or in person that’s great. I work full time during the week in Norfolk, either editing for our other company PFD, so visits/meetings in London work best but I'm alway available for a Skype chat instead!
CAN WE MEET YOU BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY?
Whenever possible it’s great to meet you in advance of your wedding. If there’s no pre-wedding shoot, then usually a chat over a coffee a few weeks before the day is a great opportunity to go over any last minute details, discuss the schedule of the day and generally get to know each other a little. I also send out a fairly detailed email before the day, requesting timings for the day and any particular photos you want me to capture.
HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
Once you’re happy to go ahead and confirm a booking with me, I’ll send you over a standard agreement which details the terms of booking and conditions of payment. I require a deposit of £400 of the full amount to secure the date with the final balance paid two weeks prior to the date.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE NEED TO BOOK YOU?
It’s good to get in touch as soon as you know the date and location of your wedding. I'm fortunate enough to see my diary filling up - often 12 months or more in advance.
CAN WE SEE AN EXAMPLE OF A COMPLETE WEDDING?
Absolutely. Get in touch and I’ll pass over some login details for you to view a complete wedding. All of the galleries on my website should provide you with a pretty good idea of the coverage I provide.
HOW LONG AFTER THE WEDDING WILL OUR PHOTOS BE READY?
This varies somewhat throughout the year. I try and operate on an eight week or less lead time. Off season/early season you will more than likely get your images quicker than this. Very occasionally processing times increase, but this is very rare! I’ll also do my best to send you a selection of preview images for you to share with friends and family shortly after your wedding.
CAN I MAKE PRINTS FROM THE HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES ON MY DVD?
Yep! These files are yours to keep and use as you wish. If you’d prefer you can order professional, art quality prints through me.
CAN I SHARE OUR WEDDING ONLINE?
Yep. I supply low res images that I'm happy for you to use on Facebook and personal blogs or websites. I'm happy for any suppliers to use the low res images as they see fit but would be grateful to be notified if supplying high res images to suppliers.
DO YOU OFFER PRINTED WEDDING ALBUMS?
Absolutely! After your wedding is over and you’ve had a chance to browse through all your photos, you may decide you want to have them organised into a bespoke, hand-made photo book or a beautiful Folio wedding album. I design the layout of all books and albums so that each one is unique.
CAN I MAKE A DECISION TO PURCHASE AN ALBUM AFTER MY WEDDING?
Yes. There’s no obligation to include photo books/albums in your initial wedding package.
WHAT CAMERAS AND LENSES DO YOU USE?
I shoot with Canon. I use a combination of Canon 5D Mark III and Mark II cameras. I’ve got a Canon 6D as another backup. I then use a selection of top quality prime ‘L’ lenses by Canon. I love how the combination of these great cameras and lenses gives me the flexibility to shoot in all environments (particularly in very low light situations) whilst still achieving the bright, airy, beautiful photos that define my aesthetic. Generally I steer clear of shooting with flash unless light levels are extremely low or there is a particular shot I want to capture that isn’t possible without a flash.
DO YOU BRING BACK-UP EQUIPMENT?
Yes, there’s always at least one back-up camera. All files are double backed-up on hard drives immediately after the wedding.
CAN WE HAVE SOME PICTURES IN BLACK & WHITE?
I tend to supply a mixture of black and white and colour images dependent on how I feel each image works best. After the wedding, if there are specific images you would like in black and white, all you need to do is ask. Sometimes a particular image looks great in black and white but doesn’t work well in colour, so I’m not always able to provide black and white images in colour.
DO YOU RETOUCH ALL THE PHOTOS?
All images are individually colour corrected to bring out their full potential and provide harmony to the overall collection. Tweaks are made to exposure and contrast too. If there’s a spot or blemish you’d rather not see, I'm more than happy to remove it!
CAN I HAVE THE RAW FILES?
I'm afraid not. I work very hard on all weddings to tell a story that represents you and the day. I approach each wedding individually and most of my time is spent on editing. I couldn't bare for anyone to see the image not in it's full glory! For this reason I’m not happy to shoot a wedding for RAW supply only.
CAN I SEE ALL WEDDING IMAGES?
Well you kind of do. I'm not the best at deleting images to only provide a certain number. If there's lots to photograph and the images are good, I'll keep them. I only delete seconds, out of focus or poor images. Most weddings have at least 500 images - it can go up to 900!
DO WE NEED TO SUPPLY A MEAL FOR YOU ON THE WEDDING DAY?
Yes please. At some point during the day, I appreciate being able to sit down for 20 minutes or so for a hot meal. Because no-one likes having their picture taken mid-mouthful, it’s often a good idea for me to do this at the same time as your guests.
HOW LONG WILL YOU TAKE PHOTOS FOR ON THE WEDDING DAY?
I usually begin coverage around 2 to 3 hours before the ceremony, taking the time to photograph the bride and groom and other members of the wedding party as they prepare for the day, as well as details and if possible the venue. Coverage can then continue for as long as is necessary. This is usually until at least the speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance are complete. The basic coverage package is eight hours - this is usually enough time to cover the complete day. I work with you to make sure we make the best use of time so the day can run smoothly and we all know where we need to be and at what time.
I HATE POSING FOR PHOTOS. DO I HAVE TO POSE?
Whether you choose to pose for photos or not is completely up to you. Documentary forms a large part of my style, so for the majority of the day I hope you’ll forget I'm there as I stand back & capture all the wonderful moments as they unfold. However, I think it is important to take the time for some beautiful couple photos this needs only be 10-20 minutes and I find it's always nice getting away and being able to say hello to each other. These shots can be as simple a process as possible, with the aim of achieving stylish & natural results that you and your family will treasure for years to come.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Absolutely. I'm fully covered for public liability and professional indemnity and have comprehensive equipment and travel insurance.
